Trips & Visits

We believe that the curriculum should not be constrained to lesson time, and that all students should have enrichment opportunities to support or stretch their learning, to enhance their life experience and simply for leisure and enjoyment.

All students have access to application for extra-curricular trips and educational visits including foreign and British residentials, ski and sports trips, visits to enhance the curriculum, fieldwork and sports fixtures.

A list of current residentials and trips abroad is distributed as students start with us in Year Seven, to help parents and guardians with financial planning and enable them to choose from the menu available, and all trips and visits are published well in advance. Although some may be targeted at students with particular interests or abilities, or part of particular option or curriculum areas, many are open to all pupils. Financial support is available to pupils who are currently eligible for free school meals.

Typical residentials/ trips abroad include:

  • Year 7 Belgium residential
  • Year 8 Paris Languages and Humanities residential
  • Year 8 /9 Geneva Maths and Science residential (alternate years)
  • Sports team weekend residentials (varies)
  • Year 8/9 Ski Trip (alternate years)
  • Year 9 London Theatre Trip
  • Year 9 Outdoor Pursuits Residential
  • Year 10 and Year 11 fieldwork in Geography
  • Key Stage Four French and Spanish enhancement
