Science Intervention and Support Teacher

(mainscale) Fulltime temporary until Summer 2018

An exciting opportunity has arisen that would suit a recently qualified or experienced teacher to support and enhance the college GCSE intervention programme.  The successful candidate would be working with classes, small groups and identified 1:1 sessions.

Duties within the post include:

      • running small group GCSE/KS3 booster groups
      • providing support of teaching within the department
      • occasional lesson cover duties in Science eg for departmental training
      • Contributing to and enhancing faculty provision

As this job is designated as a ‘regulated activity’ an enhanced DBS with barred list check is essential

Monday 8.00am – 4.00pm

Tuesday 8.15am – 4.00pm

Wednesday 8.15am – 4.00pm

Thursday 8.00am – 4.00pm

Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm

(less ½ hour lunch each day)

 Working hours will need to be flexible to fit within the school day and to

enable attendance at out of hour’s meetings/ home visits

 Grade 9 – £23,399.00 – £25,878.00

(Pro Rata at 85.18% FTE = £19,931.27 – £22,042.88)

Numeracy – Learning Support Assistant

Temporary until July 2018

Grade 5 -pt9 – pt11 = £15,807 – £16,492

(Pro rata 27.63%FTE = £4367.48 – £4556.74)

12 hours per week, term time only

Plus an additional 12 hours to be worked

across the year as required

 Hours will be worked between 8.30am – 3.00pm and negotiated subject to

timetable needs.  There is some flexibility around days

as this post will be a job share

The main purpose of the job will be to provide agreed support to the teacher in the delivery of planned whole class learning activities. To support the identification, monitoring and recording of activities around progress and interventions in Maths and to work under the supervision of a teacher to carry out planned learning activities with small groups or individual pupils.

The ideal candidate will have a good standard of Numeracy at GCSE level or equivalent, an NVQ or equivalent in supporting Teaching and Learning, and some experience of working within a similar role.
