Success Academy Trust

Success Academy Trust (Multi Academy Trust) was formed in September 2016 in collaboration with local schools in order to work together across Primary and Secondary phases to improve provision and outcomes for local young people aged 3-16, and to build on successful collaborative work already in place around sharing best practice, school improvement, and achieving value for money.

Thomas Estley Community College (lead school in the Thomas Estley Learning Alliance) was joined this February in the Trust by Cosby Primary, Cosby; Hallbrook Primary, Broughton Astley; and Richmond Primary, Hinckley, local schools with the vision of improving outcomes for local children at their heart.

We are also registered as an Academy Trust Sponsor for other schools who may approach us for additional targeted school improvement support to help improve their standards and performance. The Success AT website can be found here which includes details of the make up of the current Board.

Our model of governance now has a separate Board of Trustees and Members for Success AT as well as our Local Governance Board (LGB) of Thomas Estley Community College to which the Board of Trustees has delegated most of the day to day operations of the school through its scheme of delegation.

LGB Governors

Our Governors contribute to the work of the governing body in ensuring high standards of achievement for all children and young people in the College.

Thomas Estley Community College governors do this by:

  • Setting the school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • Holding the Principal to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils; and
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

To achieve these goals governors meet to discuss, challenge and support the College and its staff. The full Governing Body meet once a term, but governors will also attend committee meetings to focus on particular areas of the College. These committees are:
